FINE ART & PORTRAITURE by TALYA JOHNSON
Pia's Custom Framing Art Exhibit featuring works by Talya Johnson and Amber Johnson

What a great time to have a show! Be sure to come by early as my new miniature paintings tend to sell fast. These miniature, one-of-a-kind oil paintings will be featured as well as the new Tali's Pocket Prints. Each of these genuine fine-art giclee prints is hand signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity! Collect them, frame them, use them as gifts, bookmarks or ornaments, if cared for properly, these affordable prints can last for generations! This is also a great time to set up a photo-shoot for that portrait you've been wanting. Please stop by my gallery and blog to see what I've been up to.

Since this show celebrates my new "When We were Young" painting endeavor, I thought the following remarks so by Gordon B. Hinckley especially appropriate.

My wife and I once took some of our grandchildren to the circus. I was more interested in watching them and many others of their age than in watching the man on the flying trapeze. I looked at them in wonder as they alternately laughed and stared wide-eyed at the exciting things before them. I thought of the miracle of children, for it is children who become the world’s constant renewal of life and purpose. Observing them, … my mind reverted to the beautiful and touching scene recorded in the book of 3 Nephi when the resurrected Lord took little children in His arms and wept as He blessed them and said to the people, “Behold your little ones” (3 Ne. 17:23). … The story is told that in ancient Rome a group of women were, with vanity, showing their jewels one to another. Among them was Cornelia, the mother of two boys. One of the women said to her, “And where are your jewels?” to which Cornelia responded, pointing to her sons, “These are my jewels.” Under her tutelage, and walking after the virtues of her life, they grew to become [great men] Gaius and Tiberius Gracchus … two of the most persuasive and effective reformers in Roman history. … Said Isaiah of old, “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children” (Isa. 54:13). I humbly pray for that peace in behalf of all children. .Gordon B. Hinckley, “Come Listen to a Prophet’s Voice: ‘Behold Your Little Ones’,” Friend, Jun 2001, inside front cover
